My employer just sent out and email stating that all employees must be fully vaccinated by late January 2022. Told us that they "respect our privacy" and will not require any documents or forms but it will be our managers responsibility to visually check our vaccine passports. Employees that do not comply will be put on three months of unpaid leave and "possibly face termination". Sounds like they are still trying to figure out if it's legal or not.
It comes as no surprise as I, and all my coworkers knew the company would be eager to suck the big health and safety dick in an effort for the bean counters in the office to look like they are doing work, and therefore justify their positions. Nobody in the field actually gives a fuck if you are vaccinated or not, and we have all been working together without incident.
However it does not make sense to me to come up with this date as the vaccine passports are supposed to end in BC on January 31st of 2022 as well. But let's face it, we all know those will be extended for about.....well, forever. Just another two weeks right guys!
I also got to thinking that since the vaccines do not actually provide any immunity, a fully vaccinated individual can still become infected. Now every boot licker out there is eagerly waiting for someone to say this so they can bleat out "yeah but they are way less likely to catch covid if vaccinated". Sure, but what if they do become ill? They will have to go home, stay at home until well again, and most likely show a negative test to return to work.
So why the hell can't an unvaccinated person do just that? What exactly is the difference here?
No point trying to reason with HR/Health and safety as they will just mindlessly repeat the shit they've been told to.
What a fucking joke this all is.
I talked to some lawyers. They basically told me that even if their mandate is bullshit ,and maybe not even legal, that I will still probably lose my job if I don't comply.....BUT they will owe me severance pay. Also told me to hound them about making testing an alternative to being vaccinated.
There is nothing more I would enjoy that putting the squeeze on these bastards with some lawyers and getting a fat severance pay check out of it.
Worked my ass off for this company and the thanks I get is "take a vaccine that doesn't work for a virus that doesn't pose any threat to you or your fired!". What a joke it all is. Company has been gung-ho on the Covid rules for two fucking years now....there was a possible Covid infection in a staff member and they kept it hush-hush for two days before they figured out she tested negative. Didn't even try to warn people that worked with her or near her that they may have been exposed too. But their going to fire me over a damn vaccine? Fuck 'em.
I’m in a similar boat. I’m joining a class action against my employer. It’s going to take time and money. In the meantime I’m going to sell everything including our condo and start something new. I’m 44 years old so noI feel like have some time left to start fresh I suppose. It’s going to be a tough ride. Hang in there pede. The truth is coking to light
