Long ago - in covid years - the original version of the virus gave better protection than vaccination against getting reinfected. These days getting vaccinated after surviving the virus and full recovering provides better protection against reinfection, and at the same time it reduces the load on the healthcare system so that people who need care for their unavoidable health problems have a better chance of getting the help they need.
