Kronder12 finds it all SO annoying.
Mostly unsupported opinions, folks.
The one link deals with stats from July 1, 2022 to October 1, 2022, long after elective surgeries started being cancelled. Good enough for ScoobyDoo, though.
Here are some stats from the States showing recent deaths from covid by vaccination status: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#rates-by-vaccine-status The unvaccinated are at greater risk.
As for the question asked: "Why do you feel you don't have to participate in an effort to reduce the load on the healthcare system?" their answer appears to be "I believe I have lots of reasons but I can't back them up with any proof. They're just my opinions."
Besides the research that shows that the vaccinations reduce the severity of the effects of the virus when you catch it, there is research that shows that vaccinated people are less likely to pass on the virus: 26 November 2022 "In this prospective household contact study vaccination with SCB-2019 reduced SARS-CoV-2 transmission" https://academic.oup.com/cid/advance-article/doi/10.1093/cid/ciac914/6847509
May 24, 2022 "In this cohort study of 173 health care workers, inpatients, and guardians and 45 participants in a community facility, secondary transmission of SARS-CoV-2 was significantly less common, and viable virus was detected for a shorter duration in fully vaccinated individuals than in partially vaccinated or unvaccinated individuals." https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2792598
November 21, 2022 - preprint - "Here, we show that both vaccine-derived and naturally acquired immunity independently reduce the infectiousness of persons with Omicron variant SARS-CoV-2 infections in a prison setting." https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.08.08.22278547v6
Remember: there are a lot of people out there who are compromised through no fault of their own. Some here on OmegaCanada - the "they're only sick because they're fat" crowd - refuse to think about those people, the ones with asthma, cancer, cerebral palsy, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, diabetes, emphysema, epilepsy, high blood pressure, kidney disease, motor neurone disease (MND), multiple sclerosis (MS), neurofibromatosis, parkinson's disease, pneumonia, sleep apnea, ...
Then there are the people taking immunosuppressive medications after organ transplants or for conditions such as addison disease, matomyositis, graves disease, hashimoto thyroiditis, pernicious anemia, arthritis, lupus, and others.
Maybe you know someone with one of these or other conditions. There's less chance you'll infect them if you're vaccinated.
None of what you wrote refutes what i said. Try getting an expert to explain it to yo.
Not in your head, of course.
I'm just pointing out to the folks that you can't back up your opinions with anything other than your opinions.
