When we lived in small, self-sustaining communities, we were happier. Have you ever worked on a small scale farm or garden with and for people you cared about? The work is not easy and rarely fun but it brings enormous satisfaction because you are providing for your group. How can you say that being a cash register jockey at Wal Mart is the same kind of work?
Remember when you worked hard with the community farming and despite how happy and satisfied you were the crops failed and everyone went hungry? Must be tough working an easy but boring job like a cashier and being able to eat everyday.
Your post makes no sense.

I think you are romanticizing things a bit.
How would you even know? You have not experienced this first-hand. This has not been the case in yours or any of our lifetimes.
