I study gender issues in CS education

I would laugh if I didn't know that this means explicitly discriminating against men.

Women's suffrage was a mistake. Turns democracy into an emotional manipulation contest.

It could work if they stopped with the income test bullshit. That's the whole point to it; it's free money whether you work or not, just for being a Canadian. If it's needs based, it's a social program.

Except you can't get rid of the income test "bullshit". At some point your income has to start getting clawed back as taxes to pay for the UBI. Get rid of the $0.50 per dollar clawback, and instead you just increase tax rates above $38,000, it's the same thing - the money still has to come from the people who work more.

Does TV even say covid bad? I don't think I've seen CDC estimates of IFR or median age of death reported on the news ever. It all seems to be case/death reporting with a scary tone (cases surge, covid wave, spike in cases etc). I don't think they've ever actually tried to justify the fear using an analysis of the statistics.

I was watching the US Open golf tournament and they had this stuff on there too - ads about how we need to "improve diversity" in golf, and women clamoring for people to watch women's golf. They literally had a girl say "I'm worth watching too" lmao

“I don’t think the social circle concept has worked out, when I look at what we’re seeing in people’s behaviour, where one circle of 10 becomes a different circle of 10 overlapping on different days of the week,” she said. “The concept was that you need to limit your contacts."

I swear this whole social distancing effort has been an attack on people's social ties.

I don't get it, everyone is a smarmy liberal. My dad readily admits to knowing nothing about politics (eg. when this election was called on the news), and then makes comments about how dumb Trump is.

Just listened to his statement about increasing restrictions, said they're spending millions of dollars on advertising to try to "educate" people on following restrictions or w/e...

...which makes it obvious this isn't a dangerous pandemic, because you wouldn't have to tell people to follow restrictions if it were.

400 positive tests per day... for 15 million people... this is surging? The actual number doesn't seem to matter, in my part of BC there was something like 20 cases on a weekend and the news was like "uh oh!". People have been brainwashed by the media into being terrified.

Seems like they want their own kind in charge of immigration so they can bring in more. Nepotism for me but not for thee. It's obvious if you look at any restaurant run by an ethnic person, the cafe at my last workplace had ONLY Korean people. Often you'll see them with only Chinese, or only Indian. Similar with Indians only hiring Indians for tech positions.

That's the government's plan - bring in a bunch of immigrants with no ties to the community so they don't feel the need to protest tyranny. It's easier to rule over a divided populace.

Those replies show why this is such great propaganda. This is basically "it's okay to be white", but for the left.

The message behind BLM isn't just "black lives matter", it's "we need to dismantle the entire country based on my incorrect belief that black people are indiscriminately killed by the police, and institute racist policies against white people".

Saying "science is real" is basically just "believe my interpretations of the science, and those of the mass media" (you can bet they don't believe racial IQ science is real!!). Idk if this is in reference to covid, climate change, or trans people, but again people saying "science is real" usually are driving at some agenda on these topics.

The women's rights and no human is illegal lines are basically explicit partisan policy stances on abortion and border security respectively, the latter being an extreme left position on open borders.

"Love is love" sounds all nice and cutesy but is exactly the slippery slope that is leading to the left supporting pedophilia and the showing of Cuties on Netflix. Concerning that this is shown in an elementary school.

"Kindnes (sic) is everything" is basically just the typical leftist refrain to trying to manipulate you by twisting the meaning of words around. They say this, and then say it is kind to support their positions, such as giving children hormones.

Balkanization would be cooler, things would be more interesting with more varied and unique governance for each area.

No human is illegal but if you are against any of these things we will kick you out and punish you

Right. He was just described as black. It's probably actually white supremacists in black face as usual?

I can't say I've seen that too often either. Seems fishy.

I would say people are more in control of there subconscious than you think

Have you considered, I don't know, the entire basis upon which modern advertising is created? Advertisements are entirely subliminal messaging at this point, watch TV for a few hours and really focus on how many of the advertisements try to convince you through rational presentation of the relevant facts. It will be approximately 0 of the ads you watch. It's all subconscious manipulation of people into consuming their product.

I do not believe it is a bad thing to promote interracial dating!

Fuck off.

The people who wanted this mural painted over, and the media supporting them, are enemies of western civilisation. /r/calgary is full of people basically saying "well this would have been okay if there was no other wall" or thinking that the choice to paint over it is actually worth a discussion, but they don't understand - these people do not want to reason with the existing populace. If they were given an inch, they would absolutely destroy this mural simply because it has white hands depicted in it and favourably depicts a dove (white).

do not forget that these people want you broke, dead, your kids raped and brainwashed, and they think it's funny

If you want to see the kind of people you are up against, watch as far into this youtube series as you can stomach, even just finishing the first video should be enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5Wny9TstEM

In the end I think overrepresentation in advertising basically has the effect of subconsciously convincing white people that they should "step aside" and support affirmative action programs, greater immigration, and yes maybe more interbreeding between races. It's the psychological programming before the BLM riots, immigrant takeover of communities, and immigrant crimes so white people will casually accept it.

Of course I doubt that any of the people involved in this particular decision have really thought of any of this - they're probably just middle-class white women going along with the morality that they've already been conditioned to accept through media and public schooling. I.e. they genuinely believe that promoting diversity in advertising is a good thing at face value, and fully believe that minorities are disadvantaged in Canada.
