He did the same thing the Aussies did: defer policy-making to the medical establishment, who have a single KPI (no / fewer deaths) contra a host of key performance indicators that a politician ought to consider and base his decisions after (job numbers; GDP; consumer buying power; housing availability; etc.). He's now trying to assume the authority he's delegated over the past several months, in part to signal to his base, but also just as a matter of course. All the lefties he's made feel safe are now going to return to their red-cloth and all of the libertarians and conservatives he's alienated are going to relish in his titan fall.
The trouble is that there is no one in the field who is good; only worse options. If the Liberals win in 2022, a great deal will go wrong, but my sense is that Ontario will be thoroughly Quebec-ified to the chagrin of rural Ontarians.
We should have an exchange program: rural Ontarians to Alberta and urban Albertans to Ontario. Then we can just cement the divide and call Confederation quits.
Regarding the last line in your response, which Hayek and George F. Will would rush to agree with, I highly recommend the book "Bearing False Witness" by Rodney Stark. Real eye-opener regarding Christianity's contributions to science, culture, civilization, commerce, etc., as well as centuries of anti-Christian propaganda.
In terms of your greater point, that's absolutely right. Similar reasoning comes into play with Catholic schools in Canada. The law guaranteeing them similarly requires them to be explicitly Catholic, so the gay-ification of Catholic schools and their apostasization threatens their separate status, and it all comes back down to freedom of conscience, religion, and expression.
Tuchodi an unwitting proponent of the Russian troll farm narrative manufactured by the exposed Clinton campaign, which has been soundly deconstructed and proven wanting (recent Sussman revelations very damning). Total hack.
Two-thirds of the way through the article, it's made clear that that maxim serves on an individual basis, but that when dealing with totalitarian apparatchiks / apparats, a more combative approach needs be taken. Thus, calling out proponents of institutionalized contempt is fair game and consistent.
The Columbia Journalism Review describes Media Bias/Fact Check as an amateur attempt at categorizing media bias and Van Zandt as an "armchair media analyst".[2] The Poynter Institute notes, "Media Bias/Fact Check is a widely cited source for news stories and even studies about misinformation, despite the fact that its method is in no way scientific."[4]
I second this recommendation. Phenomenal book. Demonstrates with care and historic detail precisely why Disraeli, Lincoln, and John A's other contemporaries all respected him so much. He 'made us' at a time when that was probably the most unlikely outcome.
To get rushed approval for the experimental vaccines, there could be no remedial alternatives on hand (e.g. hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin). This is why these were and still are demonized. The corporate news media is doing the bidding of Big Government and Big Pharma, and Big Tech is lending a hand.
Monoclonal antibody therapies, the aforementioned drugs, and natural immunity: these have been downplayed because hundreds of billions of dollars are at stake.

Here's a COVID-19 story:
The Chinese Communist Party is responsible for:
· Shutting down domestic travel to and from Wuhan after the initial spread of COVID-19 [1][2][3], but permitting international travel out of Wuhan ahead of the Lunar New Year Festival (only halting flights in January), when China sees its highest annual outbound travel (i.e. hundreds of millions of people according to The New York Times). In fact, millions left Wuhan before the quarantine [4]. Chinese government records indicate that the first case of infection was recorded 17 November [5], but the government did not report the infection until 31 December [6]. Furthermore, Beijing deceived the World Health Organization about the virus’ human-to-human transmissibility as well as about the nature of the virus [7][8], blocked WHO scientists from critical information [9] and indicated suspected cases were “declining,” misrepresenting both case numbers and death tolls. Additionally, Xi’s regime lied about what the incinerators sent to Wuhan were working overtime burning, which tipped off international observers to the lethality of the virus [10]. Ultimately, the CCP—for its deception, unethical behavior, and duplicity concerning COVID-19—bears a great deal of responsibility for putting the world behind in its efforts to prepare for and ultimately address the virus that has now claimed over 4,700,000 lives worldwide [11].

And here in the West, our power-hungry politicians are doing everything they can to run roughshod over our liberties and atomize Canadian living.
Yeah big time. I also think it's a great narrative twist in the history of the modern world that the Soviets would do so much damage only to fall to pieces, then let the CCP (which betrayed them constantly) reap the benefit.

Communist-occupied China plans to be world hegemon by 2049. They've been planning for war with the West since the early 20th Century.
I'm no George Will fan, but he's right in saying that Russia is a nationalist socialist state minus the explicit racial identitarianism. Russia is nowhere close to being as free as the free state of Florida or Texas, notwithstanding federal overreach. Russia, is, however, more free than Canada and Australia and blue states, but that isn't saying much.
