Ahh, I could see the pandemic response and so on could have been hard on him timewise and made him re-evaluate his choices. Him stepping down now gives his party the best chance of getting someone into the election who's not a tosser and he was never really that popular anyway so a fresh face may not hurt (honestly I think he did solid work for being a lib, people in NS need to realize that we ain't got no money).
