Well remember the UN once had a Burmese secretary general named U Thant? "U" is basically an honorific similar to "Mr." and "Thant" was his only name. So... that's where I'm getting my guess.

One name is his full name? I'm guessing Burmese/Myanmaran/whatever the fuck that country is called now.

The Gen Z adults identify thus because they're taught that those identifications get you attention.

I tried for a few minutes to explain how this racial equality is not a political matter.

Mental gymnastics.

Makes sense. Liberals hate him because they think he's conservative, and conservatives hate him because they know he's not.

I'm sure Canada will find some models that forecast another six years of lockdown.

Foreign Affairs Minister Marc Garneau was present but said he was abstaining from the vote "on behalf of the Government of Canada."

What a Canadian response. As a representative of the Government of Canada, he must officially do nothing.

It's not a bad idea in theory. In lockdown world, people are increasingly isolated. In practice, however, the only thing the government can do to fix it is UNDO a lot of the shitty decisions they've made in response to the China virus, and they'll never ever do that. They might try and throw even more taxpayer money on some kind of loneliness awareness program but it wouldn't do any good.

"How do you explain being the worst at everything for the highest price?"

"...Am not!"

The catch is now that it's called genocide, the government no longer has to DO anything.

And yet, they still closed schools for six weeks after Christmas.

Experts say the provinces and Ottawa will need to begin introducing potentially unpopular new measures to balance the books, consisting of either tax hikes or spending cuts.

Gee, I wonder which one it will be.

there are hardly any patriots in this country

Thanks, multiculturalism! Most Canadians don't even think of themselves as Canadian. They think of themselves as citizens of whatever country they or their parents came from. Even children born in Canada learn this from their parents.

Keep in mind a lot of those on the list don't have many blue-collar workers. They only come to America to do white collar work (or in the case of filipino, nursing.)

Hmmm... I wonder if it's because a package of "sausages" is fucking 9 bucks ON SALE.

Yes and no. It's so ghettoized, you have some pockets of shit, and some pockets that are good, depending on who's in them. (Close to me are some good European pockets, as well as a shitty hipster pocket.) Its leadership is hellbent on making it shittier, though.

I'm more or less already in hiding. Store requires a mask? I don't go in.

I'm in Toronto. I haven't set foot in a building that wasn't home or work since August.

It should be noted that the Speaker ruled Calandra's motion out of order and said it can only be done through legislation. Calandra said he knew it would be ruled out of order but tabled the motion to prove a point. (I assume the point was "fuck the people.")

A third employee replies that if the anti-masker wants to support local businesses, he can do so by leaving the store.

"If you want to support us, don't give us your money!"

Fucking SMART.
