Comes into effect 2 days after the election. What are the chances he drops the plan if Trudeau loses?

Nobody named, no explanation of motivation or how somebody this violent was vetted and allowed to work for a federal campaign. Not even an apology from the NDP.

One man has been arrested and charged following the suspicious and violent incident that resulted in the evacuation of the Westtown Centre plaza on Bath Road across from Frontenac Secondary School.

According to Kingston Police, the incident began at approximately 6:08 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, when the accused man called 911 and advised the dispatcher there was a bomb on the roof of a specific business within the plaza.

“He requested that police attend immediately however would not provide any further information. Police were also contacted by the owner of this same business who indicated that the accused was observed to be in possession of a knife and was now threatening individuals inside the premises,” Kingston Police said in a press release on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021.

The accused man, a volunteer with the NDP office within the plaza, had initially been observed acting irrationally outside of the Loyal Oarsman by staff there, according to police and witnesses. Police said the man then entered the business and made threats towards customers before being escorted from the property by employees.

“He returned outside of the business shortly after with a knife in hand and held the male victim from behind while placing the knife to the victim’s neck. The accused made threats to kill the victim as he attempted to reenter the business while still holding the knife to his neck,” police said.

The victim was able to break free without being injured, according to police, and the accused man then proceeded to walk back inside the Loyal Oarsman, waving his knife and continuing to make threats to kill individuals who were inside.

“Fearing for the safety and the lives of other customers inside the business, brave patrons and staff intervened and were able to subdue the accused until police arrived and took him into custody,” Kingston Police said. “Police also searched the roof of the business and found no incendiary devices.”

The local provincial NDP, however, is speaking out about the incident. “Yesterday afternoon a serious incident involving a volunteer from our campaign occurred. The police were involved and the situation was brought under control. To our knowledge, everyone is safe,” the NDP for Kingston and the Islands said in a statement on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021. “Our campaign will work to support the well-being of our volunteer and everyone in our community impacted by this incident.”

As a war fighting institution, the CAF is dead. It exists largely just for show and to facilitate the awarding of contracts to the Liberal’s political friends. Our military is a bureaucratic sham, which genuinely believes that people who enlist solely for a paycheque and job security will do anything other than capitulate at the first sign of real conflict.

Keep everbody dependant on the government so nobody will protest or resist governtment policy. You have to vote for your pahcheque, keeping corrupt liberals in power forever.

Smart people realize that countries don't fight wars to win wars; they fight wars to achieve political aims. The Liberals have taken that to mean that the military doesnt exist to fight wars, but exists to achieve political aims. This is why the Canadian military is self destructing. It is no longer capable of conducting decisive military operations because the government does not want it to.

So the CAF is better off without him?

Or this was a political move, to show the rest of the GOFOs "This is what happens when you go against the narrative."

Rouleau has already said, corroborated by insiders, that he has no oversight of Vances investigation...

"Political purges of well-liked, combat proven leaders is ok! Look, rainbow flags!"

The Canadian Forces subreddit is a dumpster fire.

For those of you not from Kingston, Skeleton park is located between the criminal ghetto (Rideau Heights) and the liberal ghetto (Queen's University) so its Antifa turf.

Definitely seems lile it. Especially with Fortin's case. Makes me want to read more into soviet history.

Our military seems to be too busy hating itself and being overweight to effectively enforce a dictatorship.

MGen Fortin was removed after allegedly exposing himself to another military member... 32 years ago in college. WTF? https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/maj-gen-dany-fortin-facing-historical-sexual-misconduct-allegation-ctv-news-sources-1.5430554

Digging up something relatively minor from 32 years ago and using it against someone... this is revenge and/or political purges to take the spotlight away from Trudeau and Sajjan.

Have you had any experience with the American military and their culture/laws about fraternization?

It seems like part of this “culture problem” is Canada/CAF’s own design. On the one hand we say that whatever happens in the bedroom between two consenting adults is nobody’s business and we turn a blind eye when people of vastly different ranks have relationships... but then inevitably we have members (typically women...) who just do not take any responsibility for their actions and claim that they were subtly coerced because of power dynamics or whatever excuse. What do we do about that? The “everybody is an adult” approach apparently isn’t working. Do we just make relationships in the CAF illegal?

Where do you think all this is going?

Seems lile the CAF is headed towards a Commisariate style structure with "professionalism and conduct officers" and more secretive ways to rat out people for something they did decades ago. Meanwhile the canadianforces reddit is basically advocating mutiny/desertion with thinly veiled memes.

I was active n the old metacanada circa 2013 or so when the sub was about laughing at all of the patently ridiculous things that got upvoted on /r/Canada. I’ve been lurking here for a while. /r/Canada never changed but the Canadian Forces sub has become a dumpster fire over the past 5 years so I wanted to know if there were any opinions here.
