Great. Kenney needs to realize he’s never going to be prime minister and stop being nice with Ottawa and the fake news mainstream media.

Restrictions are only for the peasants.

It's definitely worth moving to Alberta. 5% sales tax, among other things.
Anything east of Manitoba is broken beyond repair.

the federal government will extend multiple COVID-19 benefits, due to expire in September, for 30 more days.

In other words, election will be in October.

Trudeau shows contempt for Alberta every day. I want to know what Kenney is going to do about it. Probably nothing, of course.

It doesn't matter, the probability is very low regardless.
People afraid of a 0.029% "risk" would be scared of a 0.0001% as well.

I don’t trust politicians but I voted for him because I despise the NDP. They’d have locked us down 1000 times harder.
I’m also thankful to be in Alberta. We, together with SK, need to separate from Canada.

Selective information.

At least AB publishes the data: https://www.alberta.ca/stats/covid-19-alberta-statistics.htm
For the 20-39 age range, 26 have died so far. 26 over 86,987 cases - or 0.029%.

Maybe I'm being naive but I don't think they'd have the trouble of stopping the covid theater just to start lockdowns again.
If we had an election this fall then I'd understand the motive as it's exactly what pm blackface is doing federally.

Copying Texas and Florida was very popular here in Alberta so they're doubling down. I'm just glad someone is doing this here in Canada.

Some of the changes that will come into effect Thursday include:

  • Quarantine for close contacts will shift from mandatory to recommended, while isolation for anyone with COVID-19 symptoms and for confirmed cases is still required.
  • Asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended. Testing will continue for symptomatic people.

In part two of the transition, beginning Aug. 16, the following changes will take effect:

  • Provincial mandatory mask orders will be lifted.
  • Isolation following a positive COVID-19 test will no longer be required, but strongly recommended.
  • Isolation hotels and quarantine support will no longer be available.
  • Testing will be available for Albertans with symptoms when it is needed to help direct patient care decisions.
  • Public health will shift its focus to investigating severe cases of COVID-19.

Alberta will start treating covid like the flu. ABOUT TIME!
Stop the hysteria and the waste of health resources.

The media and the coward sheep will go down HARD on Alberta, I hope Kenney will have the balls to not surrender this time.

The most obvious step would be to contain the virus in China. Once it left the country it was game over. Useless to close borders earlier or not.

I'd still blame the feds for other things: shutting down the economy, the huge overspending, feeding the panic, ignoring treatments, etc.

They're blaming the government for the wrong reasons.
Canadians think we could be another Australia but the virus would arrive here anyway via the land border.
And Australia's isolationist strategy didn't work after all.

Most likely bots funded by the left or a few retards from /r/canada/ with a lot of spare time.

The NDP can do it, by creating a million public service jobs we don’t need and can’t pay for.

No surprise, they call “racist” everything they hate.

I'd have done the same, no way I'd mix vaccines.

Sad but true.
Catch and release for real criminals.
Fines, harassment and prison if you open your business or church, don't wear a mask, disrespect travel restrictions, etc.

They won't quit.
Even with the 3% salary rollback they make more money in Alberta than in any other province.
