The school probably won't ban skirts. They'll probably offer a pants option like they did at my private school in Ontario. IIRC only this Pakistani girl wore pants because her parents wanted her to. Most girls seemed to have had no problem with skirts. The school might already offer a pants option and this entire thing is a virtue-signalling stunt.

I can tell you first-hand that most Quebecers tend to be the most conservative when it comes to their culture. They even tend to be pretty openly racist, admittedly. And that's just Gatineau. Country Quebecers tend to be even more down-to-earth.
I'm the only French-Canadian in my social circle. All my friends are anglophones from Ottawa. Trust me, white anglophones are on average much more socially liberal than French Canadians.
