To hell with purple people! Unless they're choking! Then help them!

I personally like Jordan Peterson's conception of religion. Which is essentially that the Bible is a compilation of universal human meta-narratives that codify the essential qualities needed to live a productive life. Doesn't need to be a God that created it, just generations of compiled human experience of what works best in a society, codified into a mythological narrative.

I'm way too analytical for that, unfortunately lol.

They had a rally in Vancouver the other day that managed to get between 300-500 people to come out in the pouring rain and after a last minute venue change.

Still shows that the level of response to COVID is vastly excessive.

If you're constantly wrong about everything you ever say, then it's only natural that people will stop taking you seriously.

I have a better track record of predicting where things were going to go than Fauci has had.

They've been victim of state propaganda in the school system their whole lives and all they know is adherence to the rules that are set for them.

My dad isn't even brainwashed like some people are. He's fully aware of how stupid this is, how it's not about the science, how the vaccines have some severe side effects (even if they are rare) and that I'm at a very low risk from the virus itself.

But he just can't muster up the willpower to actually fight for my (and his) rights when he knows and pretty much acknowledges that they're only being taken away by government executive fiat. But it's me who has to fall in line and be a good sheep so that I can go home for Christmas and see my family, not them who need to stand up and demand that I shouldn't need the governments blessing to freely move about the country that I am a (supposedly) free citizen of.

My mom, on the other hand is still full terrorized about COVID, and thinks I'm gonna die if I don't get it. She keeps sending me articles about the one guy who needed a lung transplant because he was unvaxxed and he was only 45 but was probably also morbidly obese. And the articles about how 99% of hospitalizations are unvaccinated.

My dad called me a week ago after I've spent the last 3 or 4 meetings with my mom and dad arguing about why I'm not getting the vaccine. I live in a different province from the rest of my family does, so I haven't been able to see them in person since before the pandemic started.

So anyway, my dad called a week or so ago and spent almost two hours trying to convince me to get the vaccine. His only reason why I should get the vaccine was that if I didn't get the vaccine I probably wouldn't be allowed to travel to see them and my grandparents again. And even if I did travel to their city, I wouldn't be allowed to see my grandparents because I'm unvaccinated (EVERYONE else in my family is fully vaccinated.)

I spent the better part of two hours arguing with him, telling him all of my reasons all of my doubts, all of my fears that the world is becoming a fascist authoritarian state. He didn't push back on any of my arguments, agreed with a lot of them. But he kept coming back to "if you don't get it, you won't be able to visit your grandparents or us again, and your grandparents are getting old and may not have long left"

I asked him, how would it sit on his conscience if I got the vaccine at his insistence just to see my grandparents again, but I end up being one of the rare people with a severe side effect, or if there's an unknown long term effect that ends up affecting the rest of my life. And he just said, "well if that happens, we'd all be in the same boat."

I was so tempted to say fuck his boat, wouldn't you rather I be in a different boat if yours is destined to sink, so that I could go on and not sink with you?

I hate to say it, but this fight is bigger than just not being able to see my grandparents in person again, and if they can't accept that then that's just too bad. They won't have to live with the consequences of this tyranny for as long if we all just stand by and do nothing to stop it.

Where's the best place to fiind info about when these protests are supposed to be happening?

Two questions:

  1. What's caused the sudden implosion of the Liberal party approval?
  2. Why the fuck was it so high in the first place?!

No, the flu is caused by the influenza virus, by definition.

About 15% of common colds are caused by coronaviruses though.

Remember how fast everyone went back to plastic bags at the start of the pandemic? I member. My grocery store won't even let me use my canvas bags because they might have covid buried in them somewhere...

Or abstained. The guy who put forth the original motion abstained for fear they'd slam him for a conflict of interest...
