It's a shame that we have to keep posting this but it seems that any mention of TPS and the global push for basic human rights brings out the worst in people, so consider this fair warning that anyone posting in here without a reasonably long /r/toronto history, or who has a history of bad faith or straight out racist posts, here or elsewhere on Reddit, will receive a lengthy ban without warning or appeal. And yes, statistics can be racist, as well you know.
Just show a bit of a fucking decency, and if you're only here to whine about black fathers and Yusra Khogali, don't. You've been warned.
Nice to finally see some of the top upvoted comments asking for number of crimes committed as percentage of population to be factored in when looking at police interactions with the black community.
Not surprised to see the mods frantically arguing after these comments trying to steer the narrative back to 'cops bad, blacks victims'. They are really scared of all of the statistics being presented and free speech being allowed when discussing these issues.
They have no problem judging all police as bad because of the actions of a small few.
But they will ban you and call you racist if you suggest that the large percentage of black criminals are the reason people treat the black community differently.
They will give anecdotal evidence of one bad interaction they had with a cop as justification for hating all police. While I personally have half a dozen examples of black people victimizing myself but I still don't hate ALL black people, but I do treat them different, you know the saying once bitten twice shy.
The problem is going to get worse before it gets better. Powers are being taken away from police and they know they are now going to be criticized more than ever before. Thugs are going to be emboldened during interactions with police and act belligerent.
If anything they will talk themselves into more tickets and charges and then those stats will be interpreted as racist again in a few years.
One of the overlooked stats why discussing how blacks are treated by police is how they are many more times likely to resist arrest in Toronto.
Which black community in which city in Canada? Why are you generalizing the black community?
This is nonsense and unfounded unless you have an actual research document that has detailed knowledge of your claim.
Ok so which cities are you specifying this violence is rising from? Black people are not monolithic so are they born here? What is their ethnic background?
The idea that every single black community is filled with violence is absolute nonsense.
I mean are you talking about Montreal? Toronto? Edmonton? Calgary?
Absolutely but then when people read these things or hear about them they cannot treat black people as monolithic as the Canadian black population is incredibly diverse and YES many black children are first-generation Canadians raised by let it be African or Caribbean parents from nations that are itself diverse.
YES of course there are even black people in which lineage has been in Canada for decades upon decades and black people from other nations that are not covered in this.
So within the black community, not everything is straightforward or united.
ALSO the idea that every black person cares or supports BLM is false!
In conclusion, I disagree with the idea that there is violence in every black community in present-day Canada that is ridiculous.
Of course, Thomas Sowell, an American and Leslyn Lewis, a Canadian, do not represent the ideologies of all black Canadians specifically or Americans.
Not every single black person is liberal or conservative and some could care less about politics and activism based on their lived experiences and desire.
Toronto, I understand, has a huge black community, but they do not represent every single black Canadian view or desire, and for individuals to solely utilize Toronto is rather interesting. I mean, what about the black folks in Alberta or Quebec?
Toronto, on the other end, is seen as a success among the black community for representation if you ask black folks in Quebec especially those who do not receive an equal platform.
Anyhow beyond black people that you see online, the black community, like any other community, is filled with complexity.
For example, Nigeria a nation with over 195 million black people and tribalism alongside religious differences, is a clear example of COMPLEX relations among black folks from the same nation.
In Canada itself, every black person has their individual lived experiences and thoughts regarding anything and everything.

Also which black gender or Indigenous gender?
