Mr Lee ran Singapore for many years with an iron fist. He used the legal system to control the opposition. His favorite technique was to sue opposition politicians for defamation, bankrupting them and scaring others from joining the opposition. Of course all this was done under the law and was on its face completely legal. His history is very interesting.
They will simply say ICU admissions were low because the lockdowns and mask mandates worked and that without them admissions would be higher. And how can that be challenged?
(On a related note they are right now practicing for the climate "emergency." They will implement harsh policies causing mass hardship. When the climate stays the same they will claim it is because of their policies.)
Canada maybe deserves another few years of Liberal rule. It’s like shock therapy. It may finally wake up the populace to see how screwed they really are. And it’ll also give the Cons a chance to become conservative.
I don’t mind the snow or the cold - in moderation. The problem for me is Montreal, where I am from, has too long of a stretch of crap weather. From November to May you never know what to expect. And Jan and Feb with the sun setting so early, and it being cold, is just too depressing. And the slush and poor snow clearing etc. it’s just miserable.
I lived for many years in NYC. The winters were so much better.
And other places get snow without the ridiculous cold.
I’ve lived in the tropics for 25 years and love it. But I travel enough so I can enjoy all sorts of weather on my terms. Much better for me.
I left and don’t regret it. Unfortunately I need to return a few times a year to visit my family. Leave. Get the shot if that is whats holding you back. Or leave without the shot if you can find a place to go. Two of my kids have left after attending school in canada. The other two will also likely leave. They see better chances elsewhere.
My current dilemma is the opposite. Should i get the shot to ease my travel? I travel regularly between north america, south america and SE Asia. At some ooint i may need to give in. But not yet.
Isn’t it the case that vaccinated people can still contract and spread the virus? If so why remove the quarantine? If the vaccine simply reduces the severity of symptoms shouldn’t removing quarantine requirements be based solely on the percentage of residents vaccinated?
I can’t decipher what she is trying to say. This is very confusing. But if the vaccine isn’t working against the Indian variant, or is leading to worse outcomes to those vaccinated, it will only be a matter of weeks before lockdowns return. Good grief. I’m glad I left.
