So there won't be an election in the near future ...

Making big steps. From a PM that was once a drama teacher to a PM who was once ... well he never had a job before become a career politician. Truly what we need.

"The clowns are fully in control of the three-ring circus that the Conservatives have become."

What do you think now about your boy Kinsella? Poilievre is the establishment candidate according to him. Can't wait for Kinsella to write shit about Poilievre. He will write shit about him and it will be printed in all Postmedia outlets.

There is no mandate for pilots. 30% of American Airlines pilots are unvaccinated and they are still flying. The problem is that during the pandemic when no one was flying almost all airlines offered their older pilots retirement packages. Over 1,500 of the overall 13,800 AA pilots took the deal and retired. Simultaneously training of new pilots was stopped.

If you really think that the federal Conservatives want to get rid of FPTP, you might be retarded.

Are the Cons which introduced this bill also part of this government telling the public what to think and/or believe?

5
RightOfSask 5 points ago +5 / -0

I mean the Cons pushed for it. They introduced the bill, so why should we surprised that the Libs now follow suit?

Even with inflation it's a big increase in spending. Under Harper military spending dropped to under 1% of our GDP.

And for new equipment, it will take some time. In Halifax 15 new frigates are being build for $70 billion. 3 out of the 8 arctic patrol ships are now completed. Two new supply ships should be completed next year. Now we will get F35 jets. We are currently in the biggest procurement phase of the CAF since the WW2.

Russia doesn't even have air superiority over Ukraine. And now we had Ukrainian attack helicopters blowing up oil depots deep in Russia's territory. So yeah, Russia's air force is a joke compared to even our old CF18s. They can't even defend their territory against the supposed destroyed Ukraine Air Force.

Spending a jillion buck to buy F-35 isn't the way somebody would behave if they were convinced of their superiority.

Why not? Just because we have an superior air force doesn't mean that we shouldn't get even better. Russia isn't the only nation that could act up. China is a far bigger threat.

On the ground though, the Russians are willing to take losses, us, not so much.

And how is that working out? Russia's military is beyond incompetent.

https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/02/attack-on-europe-documenting-equipment.html

Just a website documenting equipment losses on both sides. Imagine losing over 2000 vehicles including almost 400 tanks and tell the world that the "special military operation" is going according to plan.

Do you really want to risk this?

Risk what? We both know that Canada won't be thrown out of NATO. It doesn't matter how much we spend or not.

42% cut of emissions from oil and gas sector without impacting production? Uh huh... that's not how it works.

Cutting CO2 emissions doesn't mean reducing production.

https://financialpost.com/commodities/energy/oil-gas/alberta-prioritizes-oil-sands-carbon-storage-hub-energy-minister-says

Oil companies aren't reducing activities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Quite the opposite is currently happening because of the high oil price.

No, that arctic access is a liability to NATO. It's something Russia clearly wants.

It's not a liability. It's a line of defense.

Suddenly our CF18s are flaming wrecks landing in the arctic because of SU57s obliterated the shit out of them before the CF18s could even tell they were there.

SU57s don't even have the operational range to fly into Canada from Russia and Russia's only aircraft carrier isn't fit to operate in the Arctic. Russia doesn't have the capacities to attack Canada from the Arctic. Their military was exposed as a joke in the last four weeks in Ukraine. Our CF18s would be more than enough to stop any Russian attack.

Russia already took out most military installations.

And yet they can't capture cities like Charkiv, which are 30 mins from the Russian border. They lost so many aircrafts in the last days that they now rather launch cruise missiles out of Russia.

We have nothing other than the cf18s and hope that our allies keep us from getting dominated.

Russia isn't dominating anyone. Maybe China could dominate us, but they aren't a failing country like Russia and thus aren't interested in a war.

Trudeau clearly promised to do this and this is why the 180 on the f35s.

Be happy about it. It's a good thing that we will acquire F35s from the US.

It's an unenforceable requirement/obligation now.

An unenforceable requirement is worth nothing. There is no punishment if a country doesn't meet the 2% GDP target.

He cancelled energy east to hinder delivering oil to europe.

Energy East was cancelled because Quebec was against it, not because he wanted to hinder oil deliveries to Europe. He secured votes in Quebec with the cancellation.

He also just announced significant reduction to oil and gas?

He didn't. Since Trudeau is in power oil production increased by over 30%. Trudeau can be the biggest environmentalist he can, but there is something even more powerful. Money, and oil makes money. Today we produce more oil than at any other point in Canadian history.

Canada and their 50 year old broken down unfunded military isnt even a great loss to NATO. We're out.

There are countries in NATO with an even more desolate military and no one is threatening them to throw them out. Canada could even reduce its military budget and we would be still a core member of NATO just because of the fact that we have the largest access to the Arctic.

Russia sends some more Tupolev Tu-160 to see how Canada is doing with our CF18s?

As we can see now in Ukraine these Russian planes aren't even a match to basic defenses like Stinger rockets. Our CF18s would destroy them easily.

Clearly Canada is more than required which is why Trudeau is hypocritically breaking another election promise of not buying F35s.

Times change. And be glad that the clown broke a shitty election promise. Just like with the electoral reform. If he had enacted an electoral reform, the CPC would never form a government again.

Trudeau is absolutely obligated.

He isn't obligated. There is no law that requires him to hit 2% of the GDP as military spending no matter what Biden or Johnson say. And even if Canada doesn't hit the 2% GDP spending target (like many other NATO countries), NATO will still come to our defense.

The Saudis are considering a lot, but they are still a US puppet. They are currently not accepting Chinese Yuan and they don't have to. China has no issues with exchanging their currency for US Dollars.

His popularity in Florida invited a full-on smear campaign from the swamp

The child molester stuff is probably true about him. The stuff about his "son" Nestor is fishy, he admitted of flying young women around the US and just recently found a "girlfriend" at the ripe age of 38. He gives out pedo vibes just like Kenney.

RightOfSask 1 point ago +1 / -0

There is no obligation. Trump tried for four years to get NATO countries to up their military budget and he failed. We will see if Trudeau increases the military budget even further (which wouldn't be a bad thing).

Saudis no longer insisting on use of USD

Saudis are still insisting on the USD for oil. They didn't move away. And I bet many European countries would rather stop the import of Russian oil and gas instead of paying it in Rubels.

Gaetz is a nobody outside of Florida and populist circles

And probably also a child molester.

It's expected that the Republicans will win back both the house and the senate in November's midterm elections.

I don't know. Many US states passed or had to pass new election maps which give the Democrats theoretically more seats. We will see how the turn out will be for Democrats.

1
RightOfSask 1 point ago +1 / -0

So shocking, but Trudeau has an obligation to increase military spending by more than 70%. This is just step 1.

He already increased it by almost 50% since 2015. Harper cut the military budget quite drastically to balance the budget.

Funny how six months ago you argued with me that a carbon tax in necessary to win an election in Canada and therefore it's no biggie that the Conservatives plan to keep it.
