I live in BC, when it comes to finding jobs for people that are new programmers, it's either a startup or nothing. Startups have no stability. You have to remember that not all of this country is setup for people to just get fancy tech jobs, easily. In some provinces with less technical jobs, the people that have them hold on to them.

Also what I meant is most professional jobs REQUIRE you to have a bachelor's degree and often they require dumb ones.

Programmers don't make that much money in Canada tbh. All the good money is stateside. Also kind of fucking rude to shame service people, they're doing the best they can in a pretty shit job market, especially in programming and tech where there are minimal jobs in most of the country for entry level workers. Also have you seen what they are teaching kids in college these days. It's a fucking waste of time to get a degree. I don't blame people in service and most of them are shut out from better careers due to requirements of bachelor's degrees in dumb shit. You're probably a boomer if you don't understand how the world works for young professionals.
