I lived in BC for over a decade. A lot of their lefties are the old school hippy "fuck the govt" types. As annoying as their pagan granola crap is, I'd much rather deal with them than the authoritarian, big govt Marxists here in Ontario.

Fair point, but 90% of the world is a pretty miserable place to visit right now with all their faceless dystopian mask shit. And I don't have the cash or nautical skills to sail my own boat to Florida or Sweden.

Yep - haven't had to wear a mask into a store yet. The provincial law actually has tons of exemptions, more than most municipal bylaws. They also allow exemptions for reasonable accomodations of a human rights related issue, which includes beliefs (creed).

Regardless, the only guy who gave me any pushback was some old East Indian geezer at a Walmart who couldn't speak English (surprise!). I showed him a printout of the law and he mumbled something incoherently so I kept walking.

Who the fuck wants to travel right now anyway? Fuck the airlines and the horse they rode in on. I'm not going to pay through the nose to be a part of their dystopian fantasy. Who wants to be herded and muzzled like animals (even toddlers aren't exempt from their abuse)? Hope they all go bankrupt.

Seen this firsthand where we live. The increase in East Indians has been astonishing. They're working all the fast food and other min wage jobs, and living 10 to a house.

You are correct, but we're seriously outnumbered. Worried about all that diversity flooding into the countryside if/when SHTF.

I generally think bilingualism outside of Quebec is horseshit and a fucking waste, but I will say that the Quebeckers have at least tried to hang on to their culture. English Canada - especially Southern Ontario and Lower Mainland B.C - is a globalist wasteland. Not sure it can be salvaged at this point.

Fake news.

From the article "Authories could also ask people to stay away from public transport or avoid visiting elderly or at-risk groups. The rules would be offered as guidelines rather than requirements with the country continuing to avoid fines".

Ain't really a lockdown if all they're doing is asking nicely. It's similar to what they did last spring, but on much more local scale.

Have to agree, sadly. I don't have any love for the PRC or the CCP, but another world war would just be a different way for the globalists to accomplish their goals of depopulation and totalitarian government.

You raise some good points about the possibility of these being used for "other purposes". I'm worried the gov't will try to hoodwink the public into ignoring their gulag building campaign by saying "Oh these are just for poor immigrants with nowhere else to isolate". PS: and by the way, how many diverse immigrants are coming through Kelowna or Whitehorse. Seems a little suspect.

I think they're scared. I saw lots of people living their lives as normal over Thanksgiving. Tons of people having guests over. They're losing control of the narrative and they know it.

The big question will be seeing what people do when they roll out muh Third Wave or Super Mutant COVID-21.

Translation: free thinkers who value liberty are dangerous to our Great Reset Plan.

From Twitter. What do we think? Larp? Or is this the actual "plan"? Hard to know given how fucked up the world has gotten already.

fortisetliber 17 points ago +17 / -0

Part of the plan. They will be labelled "climate" or "covid" refugees, meaning they all have to move to Western countries. Because we're racist. Or something. It's confusing.

Thanks for sharing the link; disturbing implications considering everything the govt has done so far.

Canada's still around in 2049, eh? Seems optimistic.

For what it's worth, federal Health Minister Hadju said a month or so ago that the controlavirus vaccine will not be "mandatory" (apparently the constitution prevents mandatory vaccines).

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if they overrode inconvenient laws using some sort of legislative trickery. Even if they don't make it de jure mandatory, they could try to make life incredibly difficult for anyone who refuses (no travelling, no govt benefits, no in person shopping, no bank account).

Must have forgot he wasn't at his local Masonic lodge for a moment.

While I kind of see your point re: we all must contribute to the maintenance of order in our shared society, I disagree that it should be a percentage of the income generated by one's labour i.e if I work really hard and make more money, I somehow owe a larger "debt" to society than if I was slothful and barely worked at all. Seems backwards and not especially fair/equal to me.

As well, income taxes have been one of the key driving factors behind the vast expansion of the state. Consumption taxes tend to reach a limit more quickly than income taxes (i.e. if a consumption tax gets too high the people won't buy as much stuff or go to the black market), constraining the state's ability to raise revenue in the process.

3
fortisetliber 3 points ago +3 / -0

Bingo - abolishing income tax is the best way to starve the beast.

7
fortisetliber 7 points ago +7 / -0

Not bad, but I'd rather they ditch the income tax. Being taxed on your labour is abhorrent.

Consumption taxes are at least somewhat under your own control vis-a-vis your own spending.

Ditch the Liberal Party flag and it'd be perfect.
