My employer just sent out and email stating that all employees must be fully vaccinated by late January 2022. Told us that they "respect our privacy" and will not require any documents or forms but it will be our managers responsibility to visually check our vaccine passports. Employees that do not comply will be put on three months of unpaid leave and "possibly face termination". Sounds like they are still trying to figure out if it's legal or not.
It comes as no surprise as I, and all my coworkers knew the company would be eager to suck the big health and safety dick in an effort for the bean counters in the office to look like they are doing work, and therefore justify their positions. Nobody in the field actually gives a fuck if you are vaccinated or not, and we have all been working together without incident.
However it does not make sense to me to come up with this date as the vaccine passports are supposed to end in BC on January 31st of 2022 as well. But let's face it, we all know those will be extended for about.....well, forever. Just another two weeks right guys!
I also got to thinking that since the vaccines do not actually provide any immunity, a fully vaccinated individual can still become infected. Now every boot licker out there is eagerly waiting for someone to say this so they can bleat out "yeah but they are way less likely to catch covid if vaccinated". Sure, but what if they do become ill? They will have to go home, stay at home until well again, and most likely show a negative test to return to work.
So why the hell can't an unvaccinated person do just that? What exactly is the difference here?
No point trying to reason with HR/Health and safety as they will just mindlessly repeat the shit they've been told to.
What a fucking joke this all is.
"Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program."
Just hold the line and hedge, obfuscate and delay. Know your talking points and repeat them ad nauseam
I was required to provide an employer a criminal background check and credit report for slightly over 2 years. I have good credit and have never been involved in anything related to a crime. My position had nothing to do with finance or anything requiring anything outside of "are you bondable" but every few weeks they would remind me they needed these documents and every few weeks I would remind them I had forgotten them and would write it down.
About a year into the 2 years of laughing it off they reminded me they needed it and I said no problem I will head on home and get it, they realized the mountain of work they needed me to do and said "tomorrow will be fine". Next day they asked me again if I had brought them, I laughed said "damn I will head home right now and get it see you tomorrow" and again realizing the mountain of work they needed done they huffed for a second and said 'that's ok just try to remember tomorrow" I tried to remember but fuck me gently with a chainsaw heather with the staggering amount I drink and regular drug abuse over 2 decades my memory just suck. "Did you happen to remember to bring those documents with you" .... yup "God damnit I tried to remember but didn't but I'm happy to head on home and get them" by this point the HR lady realized I was just playing games and started laughing to.
I would answer "I did what I had to do I will try to find the document if you really need it but I have no clue where I put it"
and just leave it at that.
Start a lawsuit
I talked to some lawyers. They basically told me that even if their mandate is bullshit ,and maybe not even legal, that I will still probably lose my job if I don't comply.....BUT they will owe me severance pay. Also told me to hound them about making testing an alternative to being vaccinated.
There is nothing more I would enjoy that putting the squeeze on these bastards with some lawyers and getting a fat severance pay check out of it.
Worked my ass off for this company and the thanks I get is "take a vaccine that doesn't work for a virus that doesn't pose any threat to you or your fired!". What a joke it all is. Company has been gung-ho on the Covid rules for two fucking years now....there was a possible Covid infection in a staff member and they kept it hush-hush for two days before they figured out she tested negative. Didn't even try to warn people that worked with her or near her that they may have been exposed too. But their going to fire me over a damn vaccine? Fuck 'em.
I’m in a similar boat. I’m joining a class action against my employer. It’s going to take time and money. In the meantime I’m going to sell everything including our condo and start something new. I’m 44 years old so noI feel like have some time left to start fresh I suppose. It’s going to be a tough ride. Hang in there pede. The truth is coking to light
Get a copy of a legit passport, from your most trusted person. (less than 5 year girlfriend isn't trusted)
Scan it, photoshop it (this isn't hard use any program or format) take a medium res photo of the forgery. Throw that shit away.
Don't fuck around with this part. Tell your trusted person that the most important part is you each never tell anyone because its criminal fraud
Do not talk to anyone about it at all- pay attention this is critical (this step is for the under 25's and drinkers)
That's it. Act nonchalant and visually show the passport to your manager. It's not being recorded remember.
Just play it cool and always take your lunch to work.
I mean I'm not saying to do this obviously, but anyone easily could under your circumstances, right?
