Currently all international arrivals are routed thru Jakarta, and a 5 day hotel quarantine is mandatory. There are dozens of hotels to choose from at all price points. I chose the Fairmont Jakarta because they had suites available and served food from the room service menu. The price for two of us was slightly more than Trudeau’s hotel scheme but included 5 nights, full 5 star room and board, transfers and two PCR tests each. Overall a nice experience. We are driving to Bali this morning - making a couple of stops in East Java on the way.

There is talk of Bali opening to international arrivals in July. We’ll see.

The common language in Indonesian, referred to by many as Bahasa Indonesia. In more developed areas english is very common and often well spoken. We left quebec last week and i remarked to my wife that there is a lot more english on signs and in public than in Montreal. That’s not to say it can’t be tough once in a while - but overall its pretty easy to get by with english.

My wife is Javanese and thru her connections I got a business visa. My KITAS application went in Monday and i should have it in two weeks or so. Best thing is to get an experienced agent who knows the system.

Canada has become a joke. I left Quebec last week and am currently in Jakarta, Indonesia heading to Bali this weekend. It’s less disorganized and more open and free here. Think about that - this is a developing (shithole?) country of almost 280 million people mostly living on a handful of smallish islands and things are largely better than in Canada right now.

Exactly. Even if these are UFOs, and that's a big if, it doesn't mean they are from outer space. They would simply be unidentified.

Doctor's need to provide advice. Politicians need to make decisions based on the advice and the bigger picture. If we let doctors run everything we would be locked down forever.

My point was to only build in geologically stable areas. France is a good example. Japan is not: it is earthquake prone with potential resulting tsunamis. It also has volcanoes. Canada is much more stable.

Lol. Is this real? If I were the guy I wouldn’t care at all. Too many pussies in the world.

But that assumes there will be damage, which is not a correct assumption. If there is no damage there is nothing to be undone.

Japan’s issue is where the plant was built. France has used nuclear for decades safely. It has a much safer geology. Canada also does.

Valid point. But the more interesting thing is the ranking was done by US News & World Report and the Wharton School, among others.

Please put a warning on these types of videos next time. Opening the link and seeing her face made me ill. (But I would like to have this entire video to see what she goes on to say.)

I was uncertain about driving across a few months ago with my son - he is American. So he dropped me in Toronto and picked me up in Detroit and we went on to Chicago. He said the border crossing was chill and I probably would have been allowed. It depends completely on the border agent. But we couldn’t risk it. A short flight isn’t bad.

I believe he’s already said he would.

They just assume it’s a hate crime? It sounds like a political statement, not a hate crime. There appears to be no group targeted (in this case Jews would be the likely target because of the swastika - but this doesn’t appear to have targeted Jews). It may be Canada in general with its lockdowns etc is being compared to a fascist state - but this would be a political statement and not a hate crime. And if lefties can freely call everyone they dislike a nazi why can’t someone put a nazi symbol on a flag?

What fight for equality? They want superiority, not equality. Otherwise they wouldn’t demand extra attention all the time.

In Montreal it appeared to BLM types smashing windows. Surprised?

How does a poll like this translate into seats in the HoC? Cons won the popular vote last time and still lost.

The cops left them alone. But take your mask off in a park in a group of people and they’ll fine you and maybe beat you and arrest you. Cops are despicable. I used to support them. No longer.

Canada already has defamation laws. Let politicians sue if they think they’ve been defamed. They don’t need, and certainly don’t deserve, special protection. They choose to serve the public [don’t laugh too hard], they put themselves out for criticism. If they can’t take “hurtful” words they are in the wrong job.

Yuck. Not with someone else’s appendage. And those hips! Must be made for child bearing as my wife would say.
