Does anyone think that this law will be administered with an even hand? The the fiery Christian preacher will be as free as the extreme Muslim leader? That the white supremacists has no more to fear than the aboriginal crusader? The feminists hate will be pursued as vigorously as red-neck hate?

Yep. 'Hate crime' means hating the politically correct not whites or Catholics. 'Employment Equity' mean hiring quotas against white males even when they are under-represented. Newspeak.

Why is this news? Everyone knows that the terrible plagues before antibiotics devastated aboriginal children. Sure that is tragic, but no reason to stir up further hatred against whites and Catholics. We knew that many were buried by schools, perhaps to avoid spreading the diseases further. There is no evidence that RS students died at a greater rate than other aboriginal children of the time.

Definitely. 'White kids would have been rescued. Canada must pay for this discrimination'

1
ralphswanson 1 point ago +1 / -0

But the CBC has no articles about crimes by Muslims because that would be 'discrimination'

The CBC has been among the most enthusiastic proponents of the notion Canada is a country stained by a shameful and barbaric past, founded on ignorance and injustice and governed by a succession of white supremacists bent on persecuting every colour, minority, gender or social distinction that stumbles across its insidious gaze.

Yes, this is the message of the guy who will win the next election and run Canada for another four years.

Canada was vaccinating aboriginals in what is now BC in 1830 against smallpox. We gave them the vote from confederation if they met the qualifications that was required of white person after they relinquished their special status. We treated them far better than the USA which is why they were ten times more likely to survive. But lefty wants to focus on disputes and demonize white Canadians.

2
ralphswanson 2 points ago +2 / -0

So which gets me more virtue points: supporting aboriginals or worshiping the climate god? I know! I'll condemn whitey for forcing aboriginals to exploit their land.

ralphswanson 2 points ago +2 / -0

Even in parliament, where insults are greetings, the politically correct cannot be touched.

ralphswanson 5 points ago +5 / -0

There is no evidence that RS students had a death rate greater than other aboriginal children of the time. None. If there were, wokist professors would be proclaiming it endlessly.

1
ralphswanson 1 point ago +1 / -0

Then leftists would be demonizing whites for not educating aboriginals and not removing aboriginal children from abusive homes as they would have done with whites. Clear racism. Survivors would have to be compensated for this injustice.

2
ralphswanson 2 points ago +2 / -0

(Mostly) white hate mongers displaying their wokeness with anti-white racism. They know that they are helping nobody. They know that they are fanning the flames of racism and they are helping white supremacists. They don't care. They only care about their own virtue signalling.

And yet charges for the tire marks on the homosexual crosswalk stay. If you are a legal system, then laws must be applied equally. Canada does not even try to do that. Racism is formalized in the Gladue judgement of the SCC and since put into statute law. The Canadian system should surrender the pretense of being a legal system and rename itself as an arm of the leftist authoritarians.

Leftist mantra: "You and your government have always been evil. You must fix this with more government and greater authoritarianism."

The competition to claim aboriginal status is spreading in Canada because of the rich privileges that come with it. College professors are "discovering" (often fabricating) aboriginal heritage for jobs, positions, and clout. Even a child can understand that this is racism. Hiring by race is racism. Anyone who supports it is a racist. I'm looking at you NDP and Liberals. Proving yet again that no group is as racist or sexist in Canada as the left.

Yep. This hate-mongering is misnamed reconciliation and antiracsm.

Maybe before these Indigenous protestors come to Ryerson to vandalize and destroy property, they should deal with their own history. They can start by tearing down statues of their own people, like Mohawk Chief Thayendanegea (aka Joseph Brant), who has a reserve, a county, and town named after him just down the 401 from here? He has several statues erected honouring him, including one on Ottawa, and one in Brantford.

most of it (slavery in pre-Canada ) was slavery of native peoples, mainly by other native peoples.]

Natives had been in the black slave trade since the mid-17th century.

In Canada, and locally, one of the foremost native slave traders and slave owners was the renowned Joseph Brant, Chief of Tyendinaga Mohawk. His first venture into the field was purchasing a seven year old orphan girl daughter of freed slaves, who had been kidnapped by whites in upper New York State. Rather than return the girl to her parents, Brant put her to work.

Maybe these protestors should look to their own historical failings first, and rename their places and institutions, before demanding others do it.

Maybe we should tear down Thayendanegea’s statue in Ottawa or Brantford? I’m sure the police would sit idly by if a white person did that, just like they sat idly by today at Ryerson, right? Right?

A senior judge of the Federal Court of Canada has strongly objected to showing respect for Indigenous people by acknowledging their unceded traditional lands in courtroom proceedings, a common practice at the Supreme Court of Canada as well as government and corporate events.

We all should object to this. Courts must be above politics and be seen as such. It is shameful that many of our supreme court judges have declared themselves as feminist.

Justice Richard Bell was also critical of the Mi’kmaq concept known as “two-eyed seeing,” which encourages courts and other Canadian institutions to examine environmental and social issues from both Indigenous and Western perspectives.

Bell is right again. If two-eyed seeing meant prayer and biblical principles in court, the backlash would be violent. Why are aboriginal non-legal beliefs approved while Christian non-legal beliefs are ridiculed? What happened to equality? Equality when convenient, special privileges the rest of time.

Hats off to this woman for taking a stand against this culture of hate. If she were white she would have been dismissed with 'white fragility'. Thankfully, people of all races are rejecting CRT. We need more to follow this leader's example.

The leftist paradox is that claim that the government is responsible for all our problem yet they also claim the solution is more government.

I remember decades ago the SJWs demanding that apartheid be demolished because Zimbabwe got rid of it and it's doing just fine. That didn't age well. I have never heard these activists apologizing for their help in destroying these countries. Even if one believes the whites are not human, blacks were much better off when whites were running their countries. Much better. SJW destroy everything that listens to them yet are proud of themselves for doing the 'right thing'.

Nothing troubling in this video to any sane person, only a criticism of extreme wokism.

It's hard to distinguish Federal Conservatives from Liberals most of the time, but these Conservatives from Alberta stood up for reason here. The Liberals stay silent. How did the NDP become this wokist hate group when it started as the party for working families?
