I'm fully expecting to have to become part of an Amish style community for the unvaccinated or flee to an American separatist State to live out my remaining years on earth.
If you read the comment sections on articles from CBC and CBC you will see the growing divide between Vaxxed and Unvaxxed.
I wonder how much time we have before we get ostracized.
If I am not mistaken, Alberta is a voluntary vaccination province, so head there first; and even if they ultimately threaten you with a tax or a mandatory vaccine, you can get an exemption.
It's a charter rights issue, for starters. Not only would a fine as penalty for refusing an experimental vaccine constitute a violation of the security of the person [following abortion law logic] (7), but if the mandated vaccine in question had been tested on or incorporated elements of aborted fetuses / fetal tissue, and that is the reason cited for refusal, coercion / punitive taxing will run afoul of 2A regarding freedom of conscience and religion (i.e. a problem compounded if someone cannot or will not pay this fine, given they'll no doubt be incarcerated). Conscientious objectors could also cite the drug company’s own admissions that studies on medium-to-long-term effects—a where ovarian cancer links are concerned for instance—wont’ be concluded for another 2 years. Exemptions would likely become the rule, not the exception, making such a tax wholly ineffective.
Consider the exemptions provided in 'Immunization of School Pupils Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. I.1', for example (evidence that past efforts in this vein have encountered similar constitutional caltrops); "Same, statement of conscience or religious belief (3) Subsection (1) does not apply to a parent who has completed an immunization education session with a medical officer of health or with a medical officer of health’s delegate that complies with the prescribed requirements, if any, and who has filed a statement of conscience or religious belief with the proper medical officer of health. 2017, c. 11, Sched. 2, s. 2; 2021, c. 4, Sched. 11, s. 17 (1)." https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90i01
Additionally, like other diseases, those who can produce evidence of having had the virus through natural transmission will no doubt be able to similarly obtain an exemption, unless the rules of antibodies don't apply to the Wuhan flu.
I imagine that it may stress certain provincial health privacy acts as well.
I'm hoping for rationality but time will tell.
Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are also totally voluntary as well.
"Voluntary" due to our lack of Federal protections may lead to zero protections anywhere in Canada as it just means; you can choose to not be vaccinated but the Supreme Court can decide you're are Hazard to Society and ignore your rights.
My thoughts are on whether the vaccinated go off the deep end and turn into a mob that overrides rationality. That is a risk, even in Alberta.
Alberta has a large vaccinated population and there is an exceptional level of propaganda stating unvaccinated are Typhoid Mary's.
Canadians are a servile, deferential people. It's where our "polite Canadian" stereotype comes from.
I live in an area where 70 to 80% of the people vote for the Conservatives and even here people look at you differently when you tell them you don't want to get the vaccine.
Health and politics should never mix.
I don't buy it. If 92% of the population were going along with their plan they wouldn't need to ramp up the anti-vaxx propaganda.
72% have taken at least one dose. What are the other "92%" waiting for? The number has been flattening. And when people hear about the potential "third dose" and "still need to wear your mask" the few who were pressured into getting it but are still capable of independent thought don't return for their second dose. If they keep pushing and implicitly threatening you might end up with 75%-80% partially vaccinated and 70-75% fully vaccinated.
Classic Canadian peer pressure tactics. Every single propaganda piece starts with "the majority thinks/is/does/etc." Trying to trick people into thinking they are the odd one out. I do not believe in the slightest the majority thinks that at all. I go outside, I'll talk to people, I seem to be discovering the complete opposite is true... Am I to believe my lying eyes?
Assuming how the animal trials went for other mRNA injections apply to humans at a lesser rate, does that mean we'll lose 30% of Canada's population in the next year or 2?

Yeah, taking an unnecessary spike protein is dumb?
I know people bigoted against Americans. Always making fun of freedom. Disgustingly, most think they are virtuous and anti-bigotry and can't see themselves.
The freedom comes with a bit of roughness around the edges in some aspects of the culture, sure. But our American neighbors got something absolutely critical and fundamental correct, that some human freedoms are God given and government must not usurp them under any circumstances.
I infinitely prefer the bit of frontier roughness, over subservient weakness and cowardice like us.
Mmmm, salty tears
Even the people I know that have got it know that it's all bullshit. They just flat out say they want to be able to travel internationally and have no fear of the virus whatsoever. And that is the mentality of the majority of the population, willing to bend over and take it up the ass as long as it doesn't interfere with their convenience driven life.
