No. Not essential, but junk food and candy are essential. Funny thing is, these things can make one fat, and obesity and covid are a dangerous mix.

All I want to say is Justin is still working at it. No doubt he’ll win ultimately.

Glad I left Wednesday night. Just arrived in Jakarta. Transit stop in Doha - the airport was humming. Everything was open. So nice to see people living, traveling, eating, shopping etc.

This is a cynical attempt to make Biden’s potential increase in the US corporate tax rate more palatable - increase the US corporate tax rate and then push for other countries to match it. This won’t work as long as there are stable places for corporations to reside and take advantage of lower tax rates: Ireland, Singapore, etc.

The same as individuals - who doesn’t use all available income tax deductions?

20+ positive tests? Lets see what happens to these athletes. Probably nothing yet we’ll hear how sick they are for the next few days.

"Only through a coordinated global response can we address the impacts of the pandemic and create jobs, economic growth and new opportunity for our people and businesses."

Most so-called "developed" countries (I no longer refer to these countries as rich, because they aren't) are neck deep in debt. So how will a global effort led by debt ridden countries make anything better? How can a bunch of debt ridden countries band together and magically make things better? By relying on poorer countries? None of this makes sense. It reminds me of the last Japanese banking crisis about twenty years ago - the debt ridden banks with terrible assets were forced to merge. The results was fewer debt ridden banks but no increase in financial health. Moreover, Canadians didn't vote for the UN to respond to Canadian issues. This sucks.

And yet those who test positive but haven’t travelled are simply advised to self-isolate. Why are non-travelers treated differently from travelers? Are they less contagious? More ‘science’ from those that profess to ‘follow the science’. Anyway, as mentioned earlier, I’m out of here. Next week - off to Bali. I’ll return when and if sanity returns.

Andrew Branca at legalinsurrection is doing an excellent daily summary of the trial.

That was my point, though not as clearly made as by you.

Figured as much. I guess they are writing in code.

What is light complexion? Is that a white person? Or a black who is not too dark?

They don’t make a crayon in my exact skin tone. I am not bothered by it. Loser.

The website legalinsurrection has a daily column by Andrew Branca, a defense attorney. Andrew does a decent daily summary.

Jury selection focused on getting jurors sympathetic to the state’s case. The state is leading with emotional testimony and nothing regarding the cause of death. It’s going to be interesting.

A completely idiotic statement. He is an Asian black apologist. Ridiculous.

I take exception with his statement that ‘hate is never ok’.

Whether I like, dislike, love or hate anyone or anything is my business. And no one has any right to tell me whether it is ok or whether it is wrong.

As long as I don’t harm anyone it doesn’t matter whether I like them or hate them. Telling us hate is never ok - is this a prelude to punishing us simply for our thoughts?

In Java and Bali we will see them coming miles off. Unlike Canada where the stealth invasion is already well underway and not seen at all.

Strange. I drive by Jeanne Mance park last weekend and there were huge crowds there, packed pretty close together. No one wore masks and no police were giving tickets.

In any event, I’ve said I am leaving. April 7 - off to South East Asia. I’ll pass my time there until things normalize. And if they don’t I’ll stay there. At least I’ll have more freedom, better food and weather and friendlier people and lower taxes there.

And the media is afraid to simply point out the truth.
