Guess this means they don't need to make a yearly flu shot anymore. I'm sure big pharma will love that idea!
He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother.
Don't worry guys! Just 5 more booster shots before the pandemic can end! We're all in this together!
This has been my dilemma. I had some major things in motion going into 2020 that all got shat on thanks to the china virus. Then at the end of 2020 I had some plans that were to come to fruition in 2021, only for them to get destroyed again due to rising numbers and new states of emergency at the end of the year.
I listened to my parents and grandparents for years talk about all of the incredible things they did in their prime. Now they're all huddling in the corner out of reach of the coof, bitching when they see someone in public without a mask because it's "putting them at risk", while all of my hopes for the future I had been working hard to achieve now seem impossibly out of reach. It's hard to get out of bed some days...most days...
What is the potential consequence for not paying the fine? Do people think the charges will just be dropped at some point? Is there somewhere where we can read exactly what the penalty for "rule breaking" is in each province?
If you're just handed a ticket and never have to pay it, I'd be a lot more willing to push others to stop wearing masks and shit.
What kind of terrible logic is this? They haven't been pushing the idea of variants and booster shots because they have any intention of letting the world go back to normal after people get the first two holes in the arm. It only gets worse from here.
I hope that when it comes down to it, we the unvaccinated do stick together. The whole problem that those who lean more conservative face right now is that we suck at joining together and protecting what we stand for.
As time goes on and covid passports becomes more real, will there be stores that push back against the tyranny and want my business? When they come to put us in camps for being the cause of the 69th wave, will we stick together and fight for what's right? Or will we crumble as we seemingly always do. You already see people here who claim they just have no choice but to fall in line and get the shot because of work or whatever. Just imagine what will happen once the heat really cranks up. We're about to go from boiling frog to frog thrown into a volcano.
I do like your way of thinking though. For me, avoiding the shot is not just a matter of being worried about side effects. It's because anyone with open eyes and ears has seen the fuckery that's transpired over recent months and years, and should understand that this is about way more than a virus.
Sends you into the ground in record time!
I love how the "variants" can all be named based on location, but don't you fucking dare desecrate the great land of chyna.
That's the most interesting thing. Conservative premiers are all doing things that piss off their own bases while at the same time winning 0 points with other political bases. The only explanations are that they're being forced/threatened, are profiting, are pure evil, or are all 3 at once. My bet's personally they're a bit of each.
They might as well just start naming them like they do hurricanes. "Here comes variant Michael!"
This is what they want though. Once covid has mutated into a nothing-burger the real threat of death will come to those who have taken these shots and had their immune systems compromised. Even though they're not actually dying of covid, it will be passed off as "Wave 524, Appalachian Mountain variant" or whatever, and will be the perfect excuse for more lockdowns, more booster shots, more control, and so on.
Honest question. The conservatives very obviously suck ass, I'd never deny that. But, do you think our situation would be any better if Libs or NDP were in power? I can't honestly imagine us having any more freedom if they were in charge. We'd probably be locked down even harder somehow, and Toronto would no doubt cheer it on.
Rossmann is interesting because he very clearly understands the political games that are going on, yet still on occasion shows that he's drinking some of the covid kool-aid.
I still remember immediately after Biden "won" on November 3rd, suddenly Ford and everyone was talking about how things were looking good and we'd likely be able to go back to normal soon. Then once Trump made it clear he wasn't backing down things suddenly got worse than ever. Will be really interesting to see what happens in Ontario after the 20th.
This is what I was hoping would happen after the Adam BBQ debacle in Toronto.
It sounds like Quebec is getting restless with their curfew. You can be sure that once Biden is propped into office he'll try to quadruple down on restrictions in the US, which I think will bring about unprecedented unrest down there. Let's hope that ends up overflowing into the rest of Canada and finally stirs up some shit in this fermenting mess we once called a country.
The same people who bitched about carding non-stop are now the people who support you being harassed by police for just trying to live your life. Left-wing, double standards, blah blah you know how it goes.
Thank you, I appreciate the insight. Every year around flu season ERs get packed. Are things crazier this time than previously, or is it pretty much par for the course?
I agree though, it's the disinformation and lack of transparency that have made things 100% worse than they need to be. We can't keep acting like locking healthy people indoors forever is a good idea. No one wants to discuss things like mental health, delayed operations which will likely lead to deaths, and such. It all just raises red flags and makes what's going on feel far from legitimate.
I've been not killing grandma for almost a year now. I'm a kind, hard working person who just wants to enjoy life and make the world a better place. I honestly don't know how much more I can take, how much further into the hole I can go. Why does the world hate me. Where did I go wrong.
Super Covid? Covid 64 is where it's at.
'The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."
I don't even need to check to know that half of the tagged tweets will be "Hurrdurr, dumb conservatives don't like Trudeau, the best prime minister who has ever prime ministered. Please, lock me down harder, daddy!".
So many people are convinced that if you get the 'rona it's all over for you and you might as well just say your final goodbyes right then and there. And if you somehow get super lucky and don't die then you're going to have breathing problems forever and be 10000x more susceptible to heart attacks or something.
These people who are apparently so obsessed with "muh science" won't even take 5 minutes to research the real numbers and see that the china bug is at best a slightly worse than normal flu. They act like until all of this happened people were immortal and never, ever died. Anyone with a brain realizes that the authoritarianism that's come out of all this is way scarier than the 'rona could ever be.
You better be paying a carbon tax on that CO2 you're emitting.
