Hi guys,
I'm not sure what to do right now.
My employer has sent me an email stating that we can return to work, please provide the date of your covid-19 vaccine.
I do not wish to take the vaccine however as I don't think its been properly tested.
I've already had covid a couple months ago and it wasn't really a big deal.
What can I do in this situation?
I don't want to lose my job...but I don't want to inject myself with untested vaccines...
I get that we have to work for a living. Just realize that in this scenario you're still placing you body second to whatever compensation might materialize. Your health is irreplaceable thus every individual's decision needs to be respected.
Some of us are going to get fired before being coerced into an injection. The more people do this the greater safety in numbers of conscientious objectors to coercion in this matter.
You have 3 options:
Get an experimental jab and return to work. (Not recommended as the injections are highly experimental, dangerous and untested.)
Refuse to get the vaccine and quit your job. (Recommended as you will be living with integrity. Any women at your workplace who hears about you quitting will be attracted to you.)
Just ignore the issue. Show up for work without replying to the email. If someone asks you if you're vaccinated, avoid the question. if someone asks you to send them your proof of vaccination, just say sure and never send the email. If they force the issue and demand immediate proof of vaccination, Option 2) is highly recommended.
Thats kind of a nuclear option I suppose.
I really love my job and have it really good there, I don't want to throw that away.
Did you sign a contract before getting hired stating that you would agree to get vaccinated. If you didn’t, they’re shit out of luck.
Pleasant vagueness is a good strategy for surviving clown world.

Dead link
You have the right to refuse unsafe work. Work the system.
What industry do you work in? It has to be a bonafide job requirement, or they are opening themselves to a constructive dismissal lawsuit.
Transportation industry, IT department.
Yeah, not a bonafide requirement. Lawyer up.
Firing someone for-cause is really hard in Canada.
They would have to prove that you need the vaccine to do your job - a desk job isn't a high priority and then they would have to prove that they make accommodations to have you work from home
I work in IT as well, many clients don't care about masks indoors. My office papered up the glass by the hallway side due to nosey heath inspectors
What province are you in?
Ontario
Keep us posted.
"DOL and OSHA, as well as other federal agencies, are working diligently to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations. OSHA does not wish to have any appearance of discouraging workers from receiving COVID-19 vaccination, and also does not wish to disincentivize employers’ vaccination efforts. As a result, OSHA will not enforce 29 CFR 1904’s recording requirements to require any employers to record worker side effects from COVID-19 vaccination through May 2022. We will reevaluate the agency’s position at that time to determine the best course of action moving forward."

You could lie.
I don't think I'd want to. If the day ever comes that I have to prove it then I might just be making more trouble for myself.
You could hope for a relaxation.
Not always. Certain jobs have always had that for a very long time. Need to show proof of certain private things to get the job. It's fairly common in a lot of fields before this.
It's still fucked up and I don't agree with it but it is a norm for a lot in Alberta
God I fucking hope this is true. I’m so worried.
That might worked, great idea!
You want the T-cell immunity serum test btw. It will include all of your immunities rather than just covid. If you had swine flu exposure you could be even more immune to coronaviruses.
And having the natural antibodies is more effective than having the vaccine.
Can you please provide the link to the place / places that do that
Possibly, I'd have to talk to my boss.
