This article states at least twice that the delta variant is much more virulent than other strains of Covid without any backing. We have been told repeatedly it is more transmissible. This is the first article I’ve seen that makes the claims about virulence. No data is provided. No evidence at all. I call bs on this.

You are very welcome.

I may be a random internet guy but I’ve been on this site for a while.

I’m a Canadian. I live in South East Asia but spend a lot of time in Brazil and Canada because of family.

I am now in Brazil but I’ll be traveling to Canada next month for a while.

My continued interest in Canada stems from my desire not to see it fall apart because of poor governance.

Good luck!

Filet is a tenderloin with some of the crap removed, otherwise it’s a fair comparison though the price per kilo at the local stores is usually closer to R$30 / kg (about USD $6). Check out the website of Pao De Acucar for example. This is the leading grocery chain in SP.

Beef is very widely eaten in Brazil. More so than in Canada. But preferred cuts are somewhat different. While filet is a prime cut everywhere it is not sought out as much here.

Picanha is highly sought after, and other cuts such as fraldihna, bife ancho (from Uruguay and Argentina), contra file etc. Most diners (lanchonette’s and padarias) will have a basic steak lunch for $4-5.

BBQ restaurants are very popular in many parts of the country and the southern neighbors.

In addition, the beef is very tasty. If you get a chance, and you are a beef eater, make a trip one day to Brazil and Argentina. You will not be disappointed.

Now I’m hungry.

I wouldn’t know. The beef I get is from the south of the country, Uruguay and Argentina.

I’ll send some prices from here in Brazil but you may have a heart attack! Cheap, delicious and plentiful.

One thing this post got wrong about the graves: they are unmarked graves and not mass graves.

The article says as much yet the post refers to mass graves. Good grief!

It may well be years before Australia, NZ and various Asian countries open up.

Isn’t so good to have a government that cares so much for its people? What a joke! Asking permission to go out?

Well put.

The people pushing for vaccine passports are solely those who have been vaccinated. Why? Are they afraid the vaccine doesn’t work? Or do they care so much for the unvaccinated?

My wife came to Canada a few weeks after me. Where she didn’t answer the phone or fill in the ArriveCan form for a couple of days they sent threatening emails. Such silliness.

They always have resources to harass and annoy the law abiding folks. The real criminals get a pass.

I've quarantined 4 times. Twice I received calls from people. I received many "robo calls" thanking me for keeping Canadians safe. Only during my last quarantine in January did they send someone to check on me: an SQ police officer. He asked for id, made sure I was there and then left. Ridiculous.

As a long term resident of Asia and a frequent visitor to China, Thailand, The Philippines and Indonesia none of this is surprising. The surprising thing is how easily westerners have let themselves be suckered by their leaders into thinking anything the west does will make any difference at all.

It’s time to wake up.

There is no climate crisis or emergency.

Maybe China should start by allowing US companies the same access to the China market that Chinese companies have to the US market. Until then they should keep quiet.

Thanks. Winter here in São Paulo is nicer than summer in Montreal. Unfortunately I have to travel to Canada next month - not looking forward to it. I always find it depressing arriving at the airport in Montreal. Anyway, it’s got to be done.

I even had to queue to pee in the terminal. Now on the plane about to leave. Not a single empty seat on the 777. Aa929

Agree. It’s all terrible. I visited Canada 4 times since June 2020. 4 quarantines. But the last one was before the mandatory hotel stay. In April I returned home to Bali. It’s a mess there now. But end of May I went to Brazil to visit my daughters. You need a test to enter but beyond that it’s fantastic. My girls and I flew to Miami Friday night. It’s great here. Open. Completely. We go back to Brazil later this week and unfortunately I have to bring them to Canada to study next month. Not looking forward to it. But I’ll spend a short time there then back to Asia. The real problem with Canada is the whole thing is just so unfriendly and useless. And as you say, so many support these draconian measures. It’s terrible.

Flew into Miami and arrived Saturday morning. Easy. Smooth. No quarantine. Everything open. Tourism in full swing. Meanwhile, in Canada, cucks rule.
