I'm an American and I think the people who reckon this will change the tide of the midterms will be sorely disappointed. But then again, whether this ruling has any effect on the midterms depends on how many seats you see the Republican Party winning vs how many they actually win. If you live in Steve Bannonland where we're going to take 100 seats in the House and then we end up taking 55, one could ascribe that discrepancy to a number of things.

The most annoying thing is they got a 3 year investigation. When the investigation concluded that Trump did not collude with Russia, EVERYONE (not just the press, but the actual voters too) memory wiped that from their brain and continued on as usual.
