Tiger, you fucked this up last time when you got caught having affairs with countless women. Let me help you. This time when you hold the press conference and we all know you will have to. Walk in, sit down, clear your throat, take a sip of the water in front of you, say "mulligan", then calmly and stone faced get up and walk out of the room.

My sister posted the meme (it was on Omega a week ago) regarding how it is white privilege to get pulled over by a police officer and not fear for your life only a ticket on Facebook.

I replied with a slightly nicer more nuanced version of my post here

https://omegacanada.win/p/12hRZelVic/x/c/4Dx5HgrU90q

Same stats same sources same basic argument. HOLY FUCK the angry response it got. First was that female privilege isn't a thing, to point this out the majority of women saying this were well off and lived in stunning homes having spent most of their adult lives raising children at home while husbands worked. I know this because I know them and I know their husbands. Then came the racism arguments as I had suggested total numbers and not per capita numbers which to be fair has some merit in that they are twice as likely to be shot by a cop compared to race assumes all death by cops were committed by white cops and that the cop knew the race of the person he was shooting at. At this point the argument shifted to how they would rather be a white male than a native woman and how my post was an assault on native women which I pointed out actually has a higher solve rate in Canada than white male murders and missing posting the link to the RCMP paper on the topic and ... yup I was now blocked and dropped across the board.

to be fair at least half of these women have run for school trustees at one time or another and I assume all of them belong to a single political persuasion. But it goes to show the bias in perception that comes from peoples political views and worse that when actually provided data they will shake their heads violently screaming I CAN'T HEAR YOU rather than listen to reason.

To all my sisters friends... you aged look like hell and you better kiss your husbands ass every night because half of them see the pictures where I live and know they can dump you for a girl half your age and waste size and live like kings ...

Sure we all feel bad for people who can't find work due to the staggering unemployment caused by COVID. We agree COVID closures need to stop to get the economy going. We agree entirely that unemployment has surpassed the recession in the 80's and the one in the 90's. Yes CBC we agree with you that this stagnant economy is causing great hardship and preventing people from working and providing for their families and themselves. Asylum seekers have further issues reducing their chances of employment so until we open the economy back up they are going to be facing hardships.

https://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/nothing-to-write-home-about/

One of the things people forget is that the last Prime Minister to reduce immigration and to set quotas to reduce immigration was ... Pierre Trudeau. No joke Trudeau reduced immigration as well as acceptance of refugees several times but went the full distance in 1983 because of high unemployment. In 1983 Unemployment had reach %12 having risen from the high 7's. We are currently at %9.4 up from the mid 5's having peaked at somewhere around %14 at the begining of COVID however!!! the calculation no longer includes those who have stopped receiving EI and are not looking for a job which in the current shutdown could put this number well above 20%. In truth we don't know the real rate.

So lets ask the question about immigration. I'm pro immigration and have 3 times immigrated to new countries from Canada. That said last year Canada attracted 285,000 immigrants... wait a second last year Canada was in lockdown for 8 of the 12 months how did it get 285,000 immigrants and what did we expect them to do??? Why would we let in 285,000 immigrants when we had 14% unemployment and were giving out money because the economy was shut down? Where did we expect them to go when they couldn't even get a doctors appointments let along rent an apartment.

so 1983 we received 89,000 immigrants, unemployment at 12% and a population of 25.37 million (0.35 % of the population)

2020 we received 285,000 immigrants during a pandemic with almost all businesses closed and unemployment spiking as high as 14% with a population of 38.44 million. (0.74 % of the population)

See CBC without actually trying to you proved damn well that our economy at this time cannot accept the level of immigration we are allowing and even by Trudeau Sr's policies this is the wrong way of doing it. This leaves asylum seekers with nothing and sitting behind millions who will need new jobs. Worse yet by not supporting small business you have removed the number 1 way in which new Canadians actually get their foot in the door.

"The warnings come as the federal government prepares to post a $385-billion deficit in 2021"

They skipped the budget last year so does this include the posting for 2020 as well as 2019....

dude I have to have monthly drug tests over here to do transactions over 10k in cash at banks. no joke I have to present a "Proof of health compliance" which is a drug test done at a registered clinic monthly. I have a specific clause in my contract that deals with me not having to do transactions for 6 weeks after returning from trips abroad so I don't accidently trip an investigation.

to know me is to tolerate me

YerUnckleBob 4 points ago +4 / -0

what a moron!!!

That said how the fuck do I go through the pain I do with international transfers on a monthly basis and none of the banks raised an eyebrow to this. She is a moron and an idiot but there is no chance a bank should be completing a transfer over 10k without at the very basics a clear from CRA that all appropriate taxes were paid on the money. This should trigger COUNTLESS levels of money laundering/fraud/terrorism funding alerts and should have been frozen at step on without investigation.

The banks need to be investigated for this her utter and complete stupidity is one thing but what the banks did violates countless rules and is absolutely something that needs to be investigated.

187,000 / 53 = $3,528.30 per cop

assuming they all worked a full shift on this

$3,528.30 / 8 = $441 per hour

No way!! this would mean the average cop is making $917,358.49 per year. If this is deferral of costs its an order of magnitude to large. This forces this to be a court issue by demanding an unreasonable amount and further burdens the tax payer who needs to pay the court costs for this absolutely insane demand. If the amount was 18,000 (again an unreasonable number to me) I could at least say you play stupid games you win stupid prizes and say pay the damn thing but at this number the only way to move forward is in the courts.

Taking bets

1:8 Woman who is person of colour (you pay 8 you win 1)

1:4 Woman who is white (you pay 5 you win 1)

1:3 Male who is person of colour connected to the CBC in some way shape or form

1:2 Male who is white but previously connected to the CBC

1:1 Male person of colour no prior connection to the CBC

40:1 White Male born in Canada with no previous connection to the CBC and over the age of 50 (you pay 1 you win 40)

(my guess is Nahlah Ayed)

Say what you want about Chretien being corrupt at least he wasn't a pussy and neither was his wife. If the LPC found another Chretien I would consider voting for them.

It was the kind of shit you take after going out drinking at a friends bar soft opening with bribed 3rd world cops ignoring COVID regulations with lamb on the grill at the side door. It was watery and came out with extreme prejudice while being both satisfying and providing a slight burning sensation at the same time.

I rate it a 7/10 for hungover lamb and whiskey excrement.

thanks for asking

Canada is strongly condemning Facebook’s decision to block news-sharing on its platform in Australia as part of an escalating standoff over rules requiring social-media platforms to compensate news publishers.

Facebook made the right choice, they would have to pay every time a user posts a link to news. Effectively they had 2 choices, either ban it outright or build a department to deal with who posted what and when and how many people saw it to contribute to the Aus government. The can of worms this would open is insane and would simply encourage other countries to do the same thing.

Facebook would be forced into a position where if people decided to post a link to an article for any reason they would have to pay. So if the friend of the writer of the article posted it they would pay, if people who hated the article and were mocking it posted it they would pay, if people in a conversation used an article to support or contradict the article they would pay, if a group of users decided they were angry with Facebook and started posting links to article Facebook would pay.

Facebook would pay to drive users to another site which would then collect advertising revenue off the users click. This is a stupid business model and it is in Facebooks best interest to prevent this ever occurring by simply banning these posts.

The Liberal Party is angry because they were planning to do the same thing as a revenue generator and have first hand evidence that this can't work. Facebook is not the enemy of media it is a driving force getting people to read articles. If media want to generate revenue from this beyond the advertising revenue they can setup a paywall and charge for the content. If people copy the article and paste it that is a matter of copyright and the courts we already have laws for that and take down requests for that.

No sane rational individual would believe that Facebook, Google or even reddit would ever pay a penny for allowing these links to be published. This was a stupid idea and as long as it is a link to a publicly available source without modification to prevent the sites revenue streams isn't foul play but in fact free advertising. If anything Facebook should be charging a clickthrough to the news agencies for driving traffic to them.

No that is female privilege. Turns out white men and black men have very similar rates of being killed by cops. Black women and White women have very similar rates of being killed by cops. Men and women have radically different rates of being killed by cops.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/585152/people-shot-to-death-by-us-police-by-race/

vs

https://www.statista.com/statistics/585149/people-shot-to-death-by-us-police-by-gender/

If you are a black women you don't fear being killed in a traffic stop and for good reason, it is gender specific and not race specific.

There was a subtlety lost in all that....

"funneling payments through fictitious online businesses that purported to sell jewelry, golf balls and other items," https://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/16/technology/16poker.html

"those indicted on Friday are accused of masking payments from U.S. gamblers (.pdf) in the form of jewelry, golf balls and flower sales -- all in a bid to circumvent the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. " https://www.wired.com/2011/04/online-gaming-forfeiture/

".S. gamblers to be disguised as payments to hundreds of non-existent online merchants purporting to sell merchandise such as jewelry and golf balls. " https://archives.fbi.gov/archives/newyork/press-releases/2011/manhattan-u.s.-attorney-charges-principals-of-three-largest-internet-poker-companies-with-bank-fraud-illegal-gambling-offenses-and-laundering-billions-in-illegal-gambling-proceeds

See used golf balls were used to launder money for years!

Eventually the LPC will be out and the CPC will be back. Then these rules will be fascist again. The rules can only exist and only be applied when it is those they agree with enforcing them.

10
YerUnckleBob 10 points ago +10 / -0

So I hit next on every question leaving the slider dead in the middle...

Your fascist elements are moderate (50%).

I disagreed with all comments putting the slider on the far left

Your fascist elements are very low (18%).

When I agreed with all comments putting the slider to the far right

Your fascist elements are very high (82%).

This is a bad example of a survey. Properly designed a survey should approach 50% in all three conditions. This suggests that the questions are weighted heavily towards disagree. Naturally people will try to agree with statements that are made and as such this survey is expected to overstate fascism.

(e.g. Caesar, Napoleon, Putin, etc.).

Damn pretty directing examples isn't it....

Institutions like schools, the police, and private workplaces

Kind of different in their basis aren't they???

regardless...

Your fascist elements are very low (19%).

  1. If your goal is to elect someone you are wasting your time voting PPC the greens with 4 times the vote and decades of work didn't get anywhere near party status and are a waste of time so the PPC if a bigger waste of time.

  2. If your goal is to make a statement against the CPC and try to push them towards the PPC platform I doubt your vote is doing much but making them bolder in their stance. Knowing it cost them 0 seats through vote splitting and had no impact on them if anything they can use the PPC to make them look better to the mainstream or to let ideas simmer before they release watered down versions of them effectively benefiting them.

  3. The only reason to vote PPC is to keep them inspired to develop the party further. Ultimately due to poor accounting alone they were deregistered in almost 40 ridings which isn't a good sign of any level of governance.

The problem with the PPC is simple and the same as the Green Party. The candidates they attract wouldn't be able to govern even if they did win. The last time a green party candidate came to my home he was wearing shorts and sandals. I pointed out that campaigning is effectively a job interview and shorts and sandals isn't appropriate for the occasion if he can't dress properly he lacked ke decisional capabilities necessary for the job.

The PPC had laughable candidates at best and wing nuts at worst and they are going to have a very tough time being taken seriously if they don't up the ante significantly. Where the NDP has a solid base of students and trade unionists that have been ignored by the LPC and the CPC has a solid base with rural and the commercial middle class and the LPC has a solid base with the professional middle class the PPC lacks a significant base. The majority of people who were promoting them hard were internet nut jobs who sounded like conspiracy theorists.

The PPC does however provide a place for the CPC to banish people they deem to out there for the mainstream or to likely to say things downright stupid or offensive.

its isn't a 2% chance its a 0% chance at best you get what is effectively an independent representing you.
